Cranio Sacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy has its roots in cranial osteopathy, developed in the 1930s. Disturbances in the cerebrospinal fluid are thought to reflect pressure on the skull bones, as well as injuries or tension within
the body. These imbalances can be eased through gentle, precise techniques that help improve circulation to the head.
Craniosacral Therapy techniques support the bones of the head and pelvis in functioning optimally. It also helps release restrictions in the fascia surrounding the organs of the pelvis, diaphragm, chest, and neck. The techniques are subtle and deeply relaxing, and it is common for clients to fall asleep during treatment. Movements are slow and gentle. It may not feel like the therapist is doing much, but significant work is happening beneath the surface.
This therapy may be beneficial for many people, especially children and infants with cranial imbalances related to birth, individuals with head injuries, or those who have undergone surgery affecting these membranes.
